Abstract
This paper proposes a new call control API model that will be used in the next generation network (NGN) and can promote the provision of rich and advanced services. The NGNs main characteristics are its SIP based session control framework over the 3GPP IMS, and its open application network interfaces (ANIs) to facilitate the use of network functions for applications positioned outside the network. By using these published ANIs, third party service providers can develop SIP-session related service applications more easily and Web-coordinated service applications through the ldquomash uprdquo manner, which is one of the major concepts of Web 2.0.
