Abstract
This paper considers model validation as a design tool during controller synthesis for nonlinear systems. Model validation, using uncertainty with varying dynamic characteristics, is combined with nonlinear simulation and μ-synthesis to form a design algorithm. This methodology is investigated using, as an example system, the Moore-Greitzer model of rotating stall in a jet engine
