Abstract
We demonstrate an organic optical bistable switch by integrating an organic photodetector on top of a transparent electrophosphorescent organic light-emitting diode. Optical bistability is achieved with an external field-effect transistor providing positive feedback. This integrated device has potential applications for automatic brightness control, image-retaining displays, and other photonic logic circuits.
