  • Abstract
Location based service (LBS) is getting more and more popular by the growth of network technology, localization techniques and web-based map services. Not only administrators of web servers but also every user may be able to create and provide any spatial data for LBS in the near future. We may exchange them locally through wireless and peer to peer methods like mobile ad hoc networks. In such an environment, using local spatial data, we can create context-aware LBS at low cost without any central servers. However, to realize such a distributed system, we need a new routing algorithm to forward queries to proper terminals which have proper spatial data about the locations of userspsila interests. We propose a query routing method for mobile ad hoc networks, which uses location and structure information of spatial data. Compared to other methods, ours can find proper data about nearer locations to userspsila interests with lower traffic load and smaller memory consumption.
