Abstract :
Due to the key property of UWB communications: short transmission range, the communication between different UWB devices sometimes needs the help of relay devices. Considering the expenses of buying new UWB relay devices, this paper proposed a new strategy MRN (Minimum Relay Node) of introducing minimum UWB relay devices in a UWB indoor network to maintain connectivity of the network. At the same time, we studied the interference of the network and introduced a new reasonable interference definition in the UWB environment. On the basis of network topology obtained by MRN, we proposed an optimal algorithm to reduce the interference of network. Extensive simulations have been conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithms. The simulation results show that the new network planning and topology control methods effectively reduce the number of relay devices, make the interference of the network minimum and improve the throughput of the network.
