Abstract
Linear arrays of dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) are being investigated for use in subscriber terminals for a proposed local-multi-point communications system (LMCS) in the 5-6 GHz band. To meet the stringent sidelobe level specification required to prevent interference from adjacent cells, a genetic algorithm (GA) is used to optimize the amplitude weights of the array elements. The performance of an array optimized using GA is compared to one designed using a conventional Taylor amplitude weighting
