Abstract :
The spatial changes of landscape pattern of Feicheng Coal Mining Area were analyzed in order to improve landscape and ecological environment quality and to guarantee sustainable development in mining areas. Methods employed include RS, GIS, and landscape pattern spatial analysis. The results show that cultivated land had a rising tendency while forest area was declining, and the area of mining land, residential land and waters rised steadily. All kinds of landscape were changed by different degree. Some indicators decreased from 1986 to 2006 including patch cohesion, patch density, Shannon diversity index and evenness index, while as contrary, the indicator of dominance index increased during the same period. The overall landscape´s fragmentation and diversity degrees increased, and the landscape´s were more irregular. Those indicate that developmental trend of different patch types are equalization and diversification.
