Abstract :
Land-Use and Land-Cover Change (LUCC) is one of the most important issues of Global Change studies, it can help us understand the pace, magnitude and spatial reaches of human alterations of the earth´s land surface. In this paper, we analyzed the spatial patterns of land use change in Jiaodong Peninsula. Land use transition matrix, land use dynamic degree, land use degree composite index and so on were used to depict the characters of land use change in the whole study area and main watersheds based on spatial analysis techniques. It turned out that the main land use types were farmland, forest and grassland. Urban, country, water body and industrial and traffic area increased while farmland, forest, grassland decreased notably, the main conversion types included farmland → urban, farmland → country, farmland → water, country → urban, the intensification level of land use in Jiaodong Peninsula was high and had been increased continually. Different characters can be found among different watersheds. There´s the highest human activity in Dagu watershed, and notable urbanization in every watershed except Wulong watershed, there´re very similar dominant mechanisms of land use changes in different watersheds which were the changes among farmland, urban, country and industrial and traffic area.
