Abstract
Since the liberalization of the electrical power market in most EU countries regulation authorities have been founded to observe and regulate the quality of the delivered power. In order to meet the requirements resulting from this situation, grid providers have to be able to prove that European Standards for power quality (EN 50160) are obeyed in each consumer connection point and product liability laws are fulfilled. The purpose of this paper is to show how diverse disturbing sources spread out over the whole MV- and HV-grid. Furthermore the measured data of an existing power quality monitoring system consisting of about 200 measuring points inside of about 40 MV-grids which are fed by 2 HV-grids will be analyzed in order to evaluate the best positions for power quality measuring stations.
