  • Abstract
Summary form only given. Cadence views test from the point-of-view of the goals on the manufacturing floor. The primary goal is to catch as many defects as possible with minimal total cost. The primary consideration for investment is where the business can grow, from both a test perspective and also from the perspective of offering a complete design solution for customers. Cadence participates in the "test-supply-chain" in two major areas, (DFT + ATPG) and diagnostics. As such the company is driven both by the customers time to market, product quality and yield imperatives. Examples of the influence of customers in the focused investment to include three major areas: full- chip test to accelerate time-to-tapeout, delay test to ensure product quality for nanometer devices and diagnostics to accelerate yield ramp
