Automating a student class attendance register using radio frequency identification in South Africa

The class attendance register can be a key factor in improving the quality of teaching. We have automated the class attendance register using radio frequency identification technology in combination with internet hotspot. Information from a student´s ID card is electronically collected automatically from either a bag or pocket when the student enters the classroom and then entered into a register.
