Abstract
The paper concentrated on how to stabilize switched systems by sliding mode control. First, all subsystems of the switched system were transformed to get reduced-order sliding motions. Variable structure controllers were designed such that all subsystems of switched systems reached their own sliding surfaces. Then switching signals were chosen and sliding surfaces were designed. A sufficient condition for switched systems to be stabizable was also given in the paper. A numerical example was given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
