Abstract :
An efficient FEM-based hybrid method is proposed to solve a three-dimensional open region problem. Only with a small number of meshes around a three-dimensional scatterer, the typical finite element method is shown to give an exact solution through several iterative updates of the boundary conditions. To show the validity of the proposed method, the scattering by a three-dimensional cavity-backed aperture is analyzed and its result is compared with another method
