Abstract :
Passive millimetric wave (mm-wave) sensing systems have attracted an increasing interest over past years due to their superior poor weather performance compared with visible and infra red wave systems. A W-band (94 GHz; rf bandwidth=3 GHz) radiometer has being assembled at Electronic Warfare Division, DSTO. This paper describes the system, its performance and assesses its capability in an Electronic Support Measure (ESM) role of detecting W-band emissions that are emerging in missile guidance and search and rescue applications
