Abstract :
In this work we present a new technique for detecting and tracking moving targets. Targets are modeled as signal sources that emit narrow-band signals which continuously impinge on an array of sensors. The problem of tracking mobile objects is solved by a complex system which is divided into three different subsystems. These subsystems work in parallel and each of them solves an important task in the complex system. The first subsystem detects and initializes a new appearing source and verifies the presence of tracked sources. The second subsystem solves the problem of tracking angles of arrival, and finally the third one detects the power of impinging sources. The three systems work in parallel and this allows an improvement in the global performance of the tracking system, solving the problems in crossover situations that usually present complex tracking algorithms. On the other hand, a fuzzy logic control system has been designed to improve the system efficiency
