Abstract :
The paper presents a class of infinite impulse response (IIR) cosine-modulated perfect reconstruction (PR) filter banks whose time-frequency resolution approaches the theoretical upper limit. The main advantages of the proposed design are very good time-frequency resolution (TFR), the absence of sidelobes in the filter characteristic, perfect reconstruction with a proposed synthesis bank (no phase, amplitude or aliasing distortions) and an efficient implementation using fast DCT algorithms
