Abstract
Considers the differences, in stability and performance, between robust and linear time invariant (LTI) controller designs for H∞ static output feedback controllers. The design of active control systems for civil structures consists of tradeoffs between control system architecture, available actuator authority, and attenuation performance. The tradeoff curves generated to illustrate the differences between robust and LTI design methods are applicable for comparing any type of controllers for which actuation authority is constrained
