Abstract :
Robust detection and estimation of frequency-modulated signals and extraction of modulation parameters are of great interest for intelligent telecommunication applications. This paper presents the time-frequency analysis based robust detection, classification and parameter estimation of linear frequency modulated signals and FSK signals in a blind environment. The local polynomial Fourier transform based time-frequency analysis shows superior energy concentration over time-frequency domain, compared to the conventional analysis in the short-time Fourier transform domain. Based on such robust detection and feature extraction, the classification and parameter estimation achieve very promising results with SNR >; 5 dB and short observation durations.
