Abstract
A new shaped subreflector geometry for a Cassegrain system is presented. The idea is to deform the classical hyperboloidal surface to reduce the spillover and the cross-polarization. The high gain antenna obtained can be used as a test antenna to detect external noises or to reduce the cross-polarization in a telecommunication system. Experimental validations confirm the excellent results obtained for a 60 cm antenna/80 mm subreflector system in the frequency range between 37 and 40 GHz. Different types of antennas have been designed and are now produced
