Author_Institution :
Wisconsin Univ., Platteville, WI, USA
Abstract :
The author describes a program designed to integrate into the educational design experience the traditionally sequential phases of product design, product manufacturing, and product marketing. The interdisciplinary nature is emphasized in the author´s undergraduate electrical engineering class through interactions with local industry, other departments in the university, and students at different educational levels. Team-work-oriented design is explained, and the relationship between a few team-work-oriented groups and the whole class is discussed
