Abstract :
A hemispherical coil array used in multichannel Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (mTMS) was designed in the present paper. Genetic Algorithm (GA) was applied to optimize the current configuration of the coil array so that the array could induce electric field on a hemispherical plane assumed as the cortex area of human brain. The maximum areas that could be stimulated simultaneously were evaluated. Results showed that the designed hemispherical coil array could be used to stimulate two or three arbitrary brain areas at the same time.
