Abstract :
The paper introduces the design of a novel insulin syringe based on MSP430 MCU. Controlled by an MSP430F4152 microprocessor, the syringe is designed to drive a stepper motor to complete each insulin injection with an exact preset dosage for diabetic patients. The product features small size, low power consumption, accuracy and easy manipulation, which is a best substitute for the traditional mechanical injector. After describing the hardware configuration, the paper then gives the idea of software design as well as the implementation of such major functions as motor rotation and LCD display.
