Abstract :
This paper presents the expansion of controllable range in input power factor for matrix converters reducing a number of commutations. The controllable range of the input factor in the proposed scheme can be expanded to arbitrary angle. It can be realized by using eight switching patterns of the conventional four patterns and the new four patterns. The effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm of the matrix converters has been verified by experiments.
