Abstract
A new SVPWM method used to control a six-phase dual stator induction motor is presented in this paper. By using decomposition technique, 12 vectors which have maximum magnitude are used to form a 12-side polygon and 12 sectors. The voltage reference vector is synthesized by two vectors with maximum magnitude, in which one vector is the sector´s side and the other is the adjacent sector´s side. This method corresponds to synthesizing the reference vector in individual three-phase VSIs. Simulation results, obtained from an 18-kW prototype machine, are presented.
