Abstract :
The back-to-back PWM converter based on direct power control for variable frequency induction motor drive is studied in order to achieve four-quadrant operation, eliminate grid side harmonic pollution and to improve dynamic response. The proposed scheme is modeled and simulated in MATLAB/ SIMULINK environment. Simulation shows that the proposed scheme has better steady-state characteristics and faster transient response compared with its counterpart-the direct current control scheme.
