Abstract :
This paper describes the thrust and the airgap flux distribution of 2-pole PM linear synchronous motor, The feature of a Halbach array is discussed by comparing with two different type magnet arrangements. One is a conventional magnet arrangement. The other is composed of a Halbach array with a back yoke. 3-D boundary integral equation method is applied to these models. The thrust and the flux density are investigated changing design parameters of magnets.
