Abstract :
The Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) interferometric technique is proposed for bio- and chemical sensor systems. The method is based on interferometric detection of phase shifts of the reflected light, caused by a change of the refractive index Δn of the tested media under SPR conditions. The sensitivity threshold of the method to Δn is estimated as 4·10-8. The SPR-interferometer in conjunction with thin recognition films has been tested to detect the pesticide contamination of water. The SPR-interferometer combined with a multi-channel cell with various binding films was used to design an optoelectronic “tongue” for simultaneous multi- component analysis of liquids
