Abstract
The principle of a dual mechanical port (DMP) machines is proposed in 2002, and since then, many different topologies of DMP machines have been proposed. The structure of the DMP machine which has been proposed is compromised by inner motor and outer motor, the inner motor is compromised by inner rotor and outer rotor, and the outer motor is compromised by outer rotor and the stator, the outer rotor is commonly shared by the two machines, however, the inner rotor is a winding rotor this structure of the DMP machine need brush and slip ring which will cause loss, and it need scheduled maintenance. In this paper, a novel DMP machine, named as a co-axial dual flux-switching PM (CAD-FSPM) machine, is proposed for hybrid electric vehicles, which is comprised by an inner FSPM machine and an outer FSPM machine co-axially accommodated and separated by non-magnetic ring.
