Abstract :
A mobile ad hoc network consists of wireless hosts that move rapidly and frequently, Movement of hosts results in a change in routes, requiring some mechanism for determining new routes. Many protocols have been proposed for mobile ad hoc networks, with the goal of achieving efficient routing. This paper suggests an approach to utilize scope-agent to improve performance of Multicast Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (MAODV) protocol for mobile ad hoc networks. The performance of the modified MAODV(SAMAODV) is compared with that of MAODV. We analyze our results in terms of packet delivery ratio, end-to-end average delay, routing overhead and the number of reconstruction trees. Simulation results show that the SAMAODV is superior to the MAODV, especially in the large mobile ad hoc networks.
