Abstract :
An integrated 55-65 GHz slot antenna fed by a rectangular micro coaxial feed line fabricated on a metallic reflector backed high resistivity silicon wafer is presented. The antenna exhibits a measured return loss better than 15 dB in the desired frequency band corresponding to a bandwidth of 17%. A simulated unidirectional gain of -0.29 dBi and a front- to-back ratio of 15 dB are observed at the 60 GHz center frequency with a good agreement between the measured and simulated radiation patterns. A 50% reduction in slot length has been achieved by using an H-shaped slot.
