Abstract :
The author uses briefing techniques as a tool to facilitate integrating outside reading into his classes in electrical engineering technology at Purdue University-West Lafayette. The one-page technical brief can be used with trade articles or research articles, and briefing skeletons have been developed for both types of articles. Some of the positive results of using this method include motivating students to read assigned articles and better preparation by students for classroom discussion
