Abstract :
αWIT, a debugger for systems using the Hitachi H8/300 microcontroller series, offers easy operation in a compact body. The H8/300 series are high-performance single-chip microcontrollers with numerous on-chip peripheral functions and a high-speed CPU core featuring an original Hitachi architecture. For use with the H8/300 series, Hitachi Ltd. has developed H18-3X a realtime operating system conforming to the μITRON specification. In the single-chip microcontroller application systems for which HI8-3X is intended, limited ROM size makes self-debugging difficult, so systems must be debugged using an in-circuit emulator. For this reason HI8-3X debug functions have been added to αWIT to create an αWIT on-line debugger. This paper describes the implementation of the αWIT on-line debugger
