Abstract :
This article addresses the emerging focus on the purposeful creation of candidate technologies for disruptive innovation. Based on the exploratory case study of Sonypsilas creation of transistor radio, combined with the extant literature, the constructs key to the creation of technologies for disruptive innovation have been identified in 4 propositions. The case study also indicates that the R&D leading to the creation of disruptive technologies could indeed be extremely challenging and suitable as agenda for use-inspired upstream research.
