Abstract :
The main goal of the project is to demonstrate improved access to health care services and health information at rural primary health care levels through creation of telemedicine program. The program will establish telemedicine services in 128 sustainable rural districts (raions) in all 14 oblasts of Kazakhstan equipped with state-of-the-art telemedicine equipment and supported by long-distance medical consultation services. In 2004 the project will concentrate on 10 rural districts (raions) of Almaty oblast. It will focus on training, installation of equipment and telemedicine sessions between Oblast Telemedicine Consulting Center in Taldy-Korgan City and 10 rural district hospitals.
