A semantic method for coding of ICD diagnoses

This paper describes a semantic method for coding of ICD diagnoses. A coding system is established with this method which can classify the diagnoses into standard code according to ICD system. An approach to implement this system is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the diagnoses will be decomposed to sentences. Every sentence will be parsed with semantic analysis, and then understand the meanings of the whole diagnoses using reading comprehension system. Finally, classify the texts into ICD codes. The methods used have proved to be efficient for ICD-10 classification.
