  • Abstract
Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) implemented a new Telecommunications Engineering Technology program with two options, Technical and Management, in August 1989 in the School of Engineering Technology. The program is an interdisciplinary program that uses courses from four different RIT colleges. This program provides a Bachelor of Science degree after five years and includes fifteen months of cooperative work experience, which occur in the last three years. The two options share a common lower division program. This two-year program is a common program for the electrical engineering technology, computer engineering technology, and telecommunications engineering technology RIT programs. This program is described with reference to laboratory development, specialized laboratories, funding sources, enrollments, and distance learning courses
