Abstract :
Courseware authoring has become more important as a result of the increasing popularity of distance learning. However, traditional courseware authoring tools can not provide the required production rate to match the needs of courseware. In the Multimedia Information Research Lab, we are developing a 3 Dimensional Multimedia Interactive Courseware Authoring (3D MICA) system that visualizes the integration of media objects in 3 dimensional space to resolve the traditional multimedia courseware authoring problems. We describe a method on how to increase the production rate of courseware by representing all three of: spatial structure, temporal structure, and behavioral structure in multimedia interactive courseware together in the 3D scenario structure
