Abstract :
Summary form only given. Reversible methods for the compression of grayscale images are generally considered to have two steps: decorrelation and coding. In the improved method, the sequence of decorrelated pixel values is encoded using several contexts. The statistics under each of these contexts are estimated using the cumulative adaptive technique. Coding is accomplished by means of an arithmetic code
