Abstract :
Antenna diversity is a widely studied strategy to combat fading processes in wireless systems. While packet combining may further enhance receiver diversity, this issue has not received much attention. We study ARQ schemes with or without receiver diversity. An important outcome of this work is that significant performance gain can be achieved with packet combining along with selection diversity.
