Abstract
The 85 degC grade was made of PP/COC/POSS compound, which required lower processing temperatures compared to the 110 degC grade making the large scale production more feasible on existing commercial film lines. The processing of the plastic compounds into films could be done only in a small 2 degC temperature window. If the temperature during the stretching of the film was lower, the film would tear, but if it was higher the cellular structure was not formed. Careful optimization of filmmaking parameters is thus required for large scale commercial production.
