Abstract :
This paper reviews some current understanding of the charging process in ferroelectrets. Optical, electrical, and acoustic studies are done to investigate the dielectric barrier discharges in polymer foams. Results show that suppressing the back discharge could provide a pathway to a significantly enhanced piezoelectric activity.
