Abstract :
This paper shows that adding various polar molecules into a solution based COC will influence the resulting electret properties as well as the morphology of the semi- open porous structure. A series of polar molecules, 8- hydorxyoctanoic acid (O7C), 2-(10-mercaptodecyl) malonic acid (S10C2) and their derivatives were employed in our investigation. The newly developed electret material was made from solutions. Our newly developed blended electret material has shown excellent mechanical properties and is easy to use when compared to using Teflon FEP or PP.
