Abstract :
In this study, we analyzed the fluorescence from a luminescent polymer, poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV), in the form of layer-by-layer films alternated with a polyelectrolyte, where the emission efficiency was controlled both by the constitution of a given layer and by the multilayer architecture. The band gap of PPV, for instance, could be varied by adding distinct amounts of dodecyl benzyl sulphonic acid (DBSA) in each layer.
