Abstract :
The transient electric fields generated by switching operations in the electric power substation were measured. These such measurements are the first one in China in the field of a high voltage substation. In either disconnect switches or circuit breakers being operated, a short line or a section of bus was energized or de-energized. The operations include closing or opening disconnect switches and circuit breakers. In this measurement many data was obtained and some characteristics of transient electric fields was presented in this paper. These conclusions concerning EMI level of switching transient electric fields are useful to engineering and theory analysis.
