Abstract
Inpainting is an image interpolation problem with broad applications in image processing and vision analysis. In our research, a new algorithm is proposed for removing objects from digital images and filling in the hole that is left behind in a visually plausible way. To improve the efficiency, successive elimination algorithm (SEA) is employed to obtain global optimal solution. The experiment results show that the inpainted images are visually pleasant and computational efficiency is improved obviously.
