  • Abstract
A CPW-fed wide band antenna is presented for WLAN/WiMAX/UWB applications. The proposed antenna comprises two umbrella printed dipoles which can produce two resonance frequencies. The antenna was printed on a substrate with compact dimension of 20mm×30mm×1.6mm and relative dielectric constant of 2.65. The key parameters are simulated, analyzed and optimized using High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The simulation results demonstrate that the -10dB impedance bandwidths are 1700MHz (2.3-4GHz) and 1000MHz (5-6GHz), which meet WLAN (2.4-2.484GHz/5.15-5.35GHz/5.725-5.825GHz) and WiMAX (2.5-2.69GHz/3.4-3.69GHz/5.25-5.850GHz) bands and lower UWB applications. The proposed antenna has simple structure, small size, and good omni-directional radiation pattern in the operating bands.
