  • Abstract
Ontology technology is widely used in various areas because of the development of Semantic Web, especially in the field of anatomy. Foundation Model of Anatomy (FMA) is one of the most popular knowledge bases in the anatomy research. FMA consists of 75,000 classes and 130,000 anatomy terms, due to the complexity derived from such large amount of detailed information, it will slow down the execution of the application. So a method of extracting and generalising is investigating and quantified. The worth of the experiment is to abstract a smaller and less detailed version which is easier to manage. To implement this, four steps are proposed as repair, clear up repair, abstract and split. Preliminary experimental evaluation will choose a small portion of FMA, the finger and hand.
