Abstract :
This paper puts forward a paradigm to resolve the real-time conflict detection using prior knowledge and context in CSCW plant design system from the plant design practice. Generally speaking, the performance of CSCW plant design is decided by the conflict management. And the conflict detection in CSCW plant design is a very complicated and time-consuming process, especially the engineering conflict. Firstly, the paper discusses the concept of prior knowledge and real-time engineering conflict detection and classifies the prior knowledge in CSCW plant design into inheritable knowledge and contextual knowledge. And then, the paper presents an algorithm that resolves the real-time engineering detection. This is done by decomposing the engineering conflict detection into internal engineering conflict and external engineering detection based on the divide-and-conquer paradigm and processing them separately using prior knowledge and context combining spatial partitioning and BVHs. The gist of this paper is (1) to introduce a concept that adopting prior knowledge can make some complex computing simple and (2) to resolve real-time conflict detection in CSCW plant design.
