Abstract :
Six Sigma is a set of systematic statistical tools for improving the quality of the process. Control charts as the last stage of the major Six Sigma methodology show great importance in not only maintaining the process but also improving the process. In this paper, a type of advanced control chart, EWMA chart is proposed to monitor the Weibull distributed TBE data. The recommended Box-Cox transformation method is used to transform the Weibull distributed data into approximate normal distribution before the EWMA chart can be used to monitor it. The ARL is calculated according to the Markov chain method and its properties are investigated. The guidelines for setting up an optimal EWMA chart are provided. Finally a numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the EWMA chart for the transformed data.
