Abstract :
Based on analysis on the existing equations for the sedimentation rate of fine sediment, this study proposes a method to calculate the sedimentation rate of fine suspended sediment in radial sand ridge sea area by taking advantage of the hydrographical measuring data, so as to verify the applicability of Burt median sedimentation rate equation in this sea area. On this basis, an empirical equation of sediment sedimentation rate of tidal waterway in the radial sand ridge is deducted through massive calculation. This equation is simple and practical. It does not contain physical quantity difficult to be confirmed like median particle diameter, and is successfully applied into the numerical model of sediment for simulating the development and evolvement of the radial sand ridge.
